Tips for bicycles tourists: this gps route (in Wikiloc, click here) shows how to go from Recife Airpot to Boa Viagem Beach. Be careful: in Recife, the drivers do not like bicycles. Signal your intentions, ever. Use helmet. Raise your arm to demonstrate you going forward at intersections.
The Boa Viagem Avenue has a safe bike path. The neighboorhood has many hotels and restaurants of all kinds. I like Ibis Hotel. Good food and cheaper than other places I like Chica Pitanga Restaurant (Petrolina Street, 19). The Boa Viagem Square, aka pracinha de Boa Viagem is the center of neighboorhood. The hotels are concentrated in Boa Viagem Avenue, Navegantes Street, Barao de Souza Leao Street, and Conselheiro Aguiar Avenue.
From Boa Viagem Beach, you can ride to the beaches of the south (better beaches), or toward the north through the historic town of Olinda.
I recommend two good bike shops (includes bike repair): Impacto Bike and Rota da Natureza (both in Antonio de Goes Avenue).
